1. What This Website Is
This private reference site operates independently of all government offices. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, conducts official background checks, or files documents for a user.
Its purpose is to identify custodians of Breathitt County records, including the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry, and to provide access to outside research tools. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, and KRS 17.150 govern qualifying records held by public agencies, not records created by this site.
